Finn
MacCool’s is named
after a giant, semimythical
character from ancient
Gaelic Legends. Finn MacCool’s
located at 205 Main Street,
which was built in 1902,
Connie O’Reilly
insists he is not the
original owner! Connie
purchased the building,
a warehouse store, in
1984 and turned it into
one of Long Island’s
most popular and elegant
restaurants and “watering
spots”. At the helm
Connie carefully hired
James O’Neill. James’
endless energy, enthusiasm,
helps one understand why
this is a top class restaurant
where customers feel confident
and excited about bringing
their business associates,
family and friends to
“their restaurant”,
knowing they will receive
top quality food and efficient
service, in a very friendly,
relaxing atmosphere. The
décor and the “buzz”
will certainly get you
in the mood for the various
festivities throughout
the year, whether it is
the Irish Dancing or music
on St. Patrick Day, you
will always have a great
time at Finn MacCools.
Customers
may choose the active
social bar where daily
specials - baked clams,
shepherds pie, hot pot
roast, hamburgers, pizza’s
or their fresh, crisp
“adventurous”
salads served in cozy
booths. For more formal
dining the main room is
decorated with prints
from the Book of Kells
(one of the most beautifully
illuminated manuscripts
in the world, written
circa. 800 AD and can
been seen at Trinity College
Dublin). Popular, carefully
prepared entrees include
steaks Maryland crab cakes,
lobster and the Irish
specialties are not to
be missed, and a favorite
on the menu is a succulent
Black Angus Aged steak
.. delicious.
The Senior
citizens look forward
to “their Tuesday
night” and avail
of the 50 percent off
their entrée and
have an opportunity to
meet up with friends on
a regular basis. Sunday
night is family night,
where children eat free
from the children’s
menu (limit two children
per family 12 years and
under). The early bird
menu is also an excellent
value at $15.95 for a
complete meal, 4:00pm
to 7:00 pm, Monday to
Thursday.
Not to
forget the soothing sounds
of the harpist on Saturday
nights and Sunday afternoon
which has been known to
“help the digestive
system” and greatly
add to the enjoyment of
the evening.
